  • India conducted number of operations under different coded titles which are important from exam point of view.
Important operations
  • Operation Nistar: by the Indian Navy to evacuate Indian citizens from Yemen who were stranded by Cyclone Mekenu.(Socotra islands)
  • Operation Maitri: India's Army-led rescue and relief mission in quake-hit Nepal.(different from exercise Maitree)
  • Operation Kabaddi: It is the post-Kargil strategy, aimed at preventing cross-border infiltration.
  • Operation Madad: Indian Navy launched this relief operation in flood-hit Kerala
  • Operation Sahyog: Indian Army launched this relief operation in flood-hit Kerala.
  • Operation Samudra Maitri: Relief effort launched by India to assist the victims of the 2018 earthquake and tsunami in Indonesia.
  • Operation Insaniyat: by MoExternalAffairs for Rohingya refugees.
  • Operation Meghdoot: Siachin Glacier (1984)
  • Operation Pawan (1987-1990): The Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF) carried out a mission in northern and eastern Sri Lankan 1987—1990 to disarm the Tamil Tigers under the terms of the Indo-Sri Lanka Accord.
  • Operation Cactus (1998): Maldives.
