
Russian S-400 defense systems arrive in Turkey

- Turkey’s Defense Ministry says the first shipment of a Russian missile defense system has arrived in Turkey.

S-400 missile
- Long-range air defence missile system:(1) An S-400 ‘Triumf’ long-range air defence missile system is one of the most advanced long-range defence systems in the world.(2) It is referred to as SA-21 Growler by NATO.(3) It is an upgraded version of the S-300 defence system and is manufactured by Almaz-Antey.
- Layered defence: It is capable of firing three types of missiles. Thus, it creates a layered defence been in service in Russia since 2007, and simultaneously engaging 36 targets.
- Airborne targets: It has capability to destroy incoming all airborne targets at ranges of up to 400 km.
