  • Winners of 2019 Lok Sabha Election
(1) 341 (63%) winners got 50% or more of the total votes polled in their constituencies.
(2) 201 (37%) won with less than 50%.
  • How the major parties performed
(1) Of the 303 BJP winners, 79 won with less than 50% of the votes.
(2) While 224 (74%) got more than 50% vote-share in their respective constituencies.
(3) Of the 225 re-elected winners, 160 (71%) had won with more than 50% of the votes.
(4) 52 Congress winners, 34 got less than 50% of the votes and 18 MPs got more than 50%.
  • Candidates with criminal case
(1) Of the 233 winners who had declared criminal cases against them, 115 won against runners-up with clean records.
(2) Of the winners with declared criminal cases, 132 (57%) won with 50% or more vote-share.
  • Millionaires MP's
(1) The report added that of the 475 crorepati winners, only 54 had defeated non-crorepati runners-up. Of those, five winners had won by more than 30% of the votes polled.
(2) On the other hand, only 48 non-crorepati winners had won against crorepati runners-up,
(3) 21 of them with more than 50% vote-share. Of the crorepati winners, 313 (66%) won with a vote-share of 50% and above
  • Women's Representation
(1) 78 women elected to the Lok Sabha, which is the highest-ever.
