Rajya Sabha most productive in the Budget Session

- Rajya Sabha Chairman said the Budget session was the most productive in the past two decades and has reached a new normal.

(1) With 195 hours,35 sittings the house passed 32 Bills making it the best in the past 17 years and fifth-best in 41 years.
(2) With 35 sittings, the session was the longest in the past 14 years. The 204th session in 2005 had 38 sittings.
(3) After 45 sessions a total of 151 starred questions orally answered earlier record being 165 such questions answered in the 204th session (2005).
(4) Also 194 special mentions and 326 Zero Hour mentions were also made.
(5) The House regained the lost time through additional sitting of 28 hours beyond the scheduled hours.
- The Chairman noted the passage of Jammu & Kashmir Reorganisation Bill and the Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Bill as truly historic.
