Real estate sector to be focused

Why is it in the news ?
  • The Union Finance Minister said that the real estate sector requires a lot more attention and its prevailing sluggishness needs to be addressed.

  • Debt Market:
(1) Ministry was working on deepening the debt market and that stock exchanges.
(2) They can play an active role in attracting more retail investors as currently corporates are dependent only on banks for debt.
(3) Chairman of SEBI said that the development of the bond market required much more attention and a unified approach by all regulators.
