  • Schemes are intended to boost manufacturing in electronics
  • Production Linked Incentive (PLI)
    • Outlay of nearly ₹41,000 crore
    • Target – mobile phone and other specified electronic components manufacturing
    • Initially incentivise 10 firms – 5 local and 5 global
    • India – 2nd largest mobile manufacturer in the world
  • Component Manufacturing Scheme (SPECS)
    • Outlay of about ₹3,300 crore
    • Scheme for Promotion of Manufacturing of Components and Semiconductors (SPECS)
    • Intended to reduce import of components
  • Modified Electronics Manufacturing Clusters (EMC 2.0)
    • Outlay of about ₹3,800 crore
    • Will provide land and other infrastructure requirements for clusters
