  • Lunar Eclipse
    • During a Full Moon, when the Moon, the Erath, and the Sun form a straight line + the Earth comes between the Sun and the Moon => the lunar eclipse
    • Earth blocks Sun Rays to Moon => Shadow on the Moon
  • Penumbral lunar eclipse
    • Happened when Earth, Sun and Moon – imperfectly aligned => Blocks some of the light with outer part of Shadow
    • This outer part of shadow is known as Penumbra
    • Penumbra is fainter than core shadow
