- Recently, Canadian PM talked about cancelling 2014 weapons deal with Saudi Arabia.
What if deal cancels?
- As evidence emerged of direct Saudi involvement in Khashoggi’s murder, Canada announced sanctions against 17 Saudi nationals linked to the killing.
- $15 billion contract signed by former Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper to export light-armoured vehicles to Saudi Arabia.
- Terminating the contract would have a significant negative impact on Canadian highly skilled employees, supply chain across Canada and the Canadian defence sector broadly.
