- Provisions of the proposed Amendments
(1) Amendments seeks to provide a compensation of INR 5 lakh for death and INR 2.5 lakh for grievous injury in a motor vehicle accident case.

(4) Simplified provisions for insurance to provide expeditious help to accident victims and their families.

- Resistance to the Amendments
- MP's have raised their concerns over infringement of powers of the State governments.
- The Minister has responded by stating that provisions in the legislation are not binding on States and it is up to them to implement it.
