India reiterates civilisational and cultural ties with Nepal
Why it is in news?
- As Nepal prepared to vote for a new map amid the Kalapani territorial dispute, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) reiterated India’s civilisational ties with Nepal.
More on new:
- The vote in Nepal’s Parliament for the Second Constitutional Amendment, which will give legislative support to the new map which gives disputed territory in Nepal, has seen extensive discussions.
EA Statement:
- We have already made our position clear... India deeply values its civilisational, cultural and friendly relations with Nepal.
- Our multi-faceted bilateral partnership has expanded and diversified in the recent years with increased focus and enhanced Government of India's assistance for humanitarian, development and connectivity projects in Nepal.
