Assembly unanimously passes A.P. Disha Act
Why in news?
- A.P. Assembly passed two Bills, A.P. Special Courts for Specified Offences against Women and Children Act 2019, & A.P. Disha Act “Criminal Law (AP Amendment) Act 2019”, to constitute special courts in every district for speedy trial of specified offences against women and children & for amending sections in the IPC, 1860, and the CrPC, 1973, adding new sections and awarding capital punishment to those convicted of rape.
