- The government has appointed four new Information Commissioners in the Central Information Commission
- It was functioning with just three of Commissioners as against a sanctioned strength of 11, including the Chief Information Commissioner.

- All are appointed by the president on recommendation of prime minister, union minister nominated by him and leader of opposition in Lok Sabha.
