  • Proof of seismic activity:
    (1) It is proof that Mars was still seismically active. Mars is not nearly as geologically active as Earth and, like our moon.
    (2) Mars lacks tectonic plates.
  • Significance: It will help in understanding and learning more about how rocky planets are formed.
