- The Tamil yeoman was chosen after both the T.N. Forest Department and conservation groups decided to work together to identify a butterfly species that could be “iconic, easily recognisable and easy to spot,” to serve as another symbol of the State.
- The State has already notified
(1) Tree Palm as the state tree
(2) Emerald Dove as the state Bird
(3) Gloriosa as the state flower
(4) NilgiriTahr as the state animal
