- The Collegiumwhile recommending these names has kept in mind due representation on the Bench of the Supreme Court to the various high Courts.
- Appointing Chief Justices in High Courts
(1) Justice Nathas – Chief Justice of the Gujarat High Court.
(2) Justice J.K. Maheshwari as – Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh High Court
(3) Justice AjaiLamba as – Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court
(4) Justice Ravi Shankar Jha as – Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
(5) Justice L. Narayana Swamy as – Chief Justice of the Himachal Pradesh High Court

- Collegium is mechanism for appointing /elevation of judges/lawyers to Supreme Court and transfers of judges of High Courts and Apex Court.
