Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit could improve India-Israel ties

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will visit India between 14-19 January, 2018. The visit is a reciprocating gesture from Israel to the first Prime Minister-level visit from India undertaken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in July 2017.

No change in H-1B rules: US

The US has clarified that it has no plans to discontinue the extension of H-1B visas beyond six years, when beneficiaries apply for permanent residency-green card. An announcement earlier about such regulatory changes created shockwaves among the NRI community in the US, especially those beneficiaries who were awaiting their green cards.

Signing of bilateral annual Haj 2018 agreement between India and Saudi Arabia

Union Minister for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi today said that Saudi Arabia has given the green signal for India’s decision to revive the option of sending Haj pilgrims through sea route also and officials from both the countries will discuss on all the necessary formalities and technicalities so that Haj pilgrimage through sea route can be started in the coming years.

Cabinet approves MoU between India and ‘Transport for London’

The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has approved the signing and implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Ministry of Road Transport & Highways and ‘Transport for London’, a statutory body established under the Greater London Authority Act, 1999 (UK) to improve Public Transport in India.
