VVPAT at all booths in Haryana Assembly Elections
Why in news?
- The Election Commission announced that VVPAT (voter verifiable paper audit trail) will be used at all polling booths along with Electronic Voting Machine in the upcoming Haryana Assembly Elections.

- Quick Facts about VVPAT in Indian Elections:
- The VVPAT were first deployed in the bye-election for the Noksen Assembly seat in Tuensang district of Nagaland in September 2013.
(1) The VVPAT were used across all constituencies in India in the Lok Sabha Elections 2019. In 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, VVPATs were used in just 8 constituencies.
(2) Bharat Electronics Ltd of Bangalore and Electronics Corporation of India of Hyderabad provided the VVPAT units for the 2019 elections.
